Our recent AATC Qld China Tour departed Brisbane on April Fool’s Day with 33 happy travellers. We enjoyed our experience becoming immersed in the local culture, food, Tai Chi, scenery etc etc under the expert attention of our National Guide Jack. We saw some wonderful scenery, visited sites of interest or beauty, and attended four of the most amazing stage shows – had to be seen to be believed. Grandmaster Khor and Master Rod happily led many practice sessions along the way, always eager to share more helpful tips to assist us in gaining a better understanding of not only Tai Chi, but the history and culture associated with these very special Oriental Arts. We can’t wait for the next Qld China Tour – we are considering our very first ‘Autumn’ tour, to be in September 2018. Please let us know if you are interested in this tour. – CHINA TOURS

During “No Falls” month in April – Rod presented two interesting and well-received sessions on Applied Tai Chi for Falls Prevention at the Gold Coast University Hospital & Robina Hospital. It was great to see some of the senior staff specialists participating in the sessions. The message was simple “Just Do It – It’s NOT Rocket Science”, “If you practice standing on one leg your balance will improve – anybody can do it, if they can stand-up” and the most important point “Everyone can improve their balance by holding on to something stable and moving the other leg in any direction as far as they can without changing their balance”.

Our Queensland Seminar with Grandmaster Khor, Master Aaron & Senior Master Rod will be at the Holy Spirit Hall at New Farm on the weekend of August 25th to 27th, but there will be no workshop at the Gold Coast this year. Mark this weekend in your calendars, and be sure to keep it free to attend a very inspiring weekend of learning and experiencing the wonderful arts of the Academy – program details and booking form available soon. Book early for the ‘End of Financial Year’ special discount price. – Queensland Seminar

If you are in Hervey Bay or Bundaberg, or would like a weekend trip away, join us for Senior Master Rod’s annual Workshop and park lesson. This is the first year that the workshop will be in Hervey Bay – as we usually have it in Bundaberg. The workshop will be on Saturday Sept 23rd and the park lesson on Sunday Sept 24th. Make the time to join us for a great learning opportunity in an informal setting. – Hervey Bay Tai Chi

New beginner’s classes are starting for Term 3 from Mon Jul 10th – why not join us to beat the winter blues. Our regular classes for all levels also commence then. Park sessions are continuing at some venues, while other locations will start again after a short break. Instructor training: we are looking for students who would like to train to become instructors. You could teach at an Academy class, be a class assistant helping on a regular basis, conduct park sessions, or occasionally fill-in for other instructors as needed. We will provide you with ongoing monthly instructor training.

The most important thing in our lives is good health – physical and emotional. We give our cars regular services, but forget about ourselves. You can have many cars, but you only have one body! Look after it well. To maintain such a gift, Tai Chi & Qigong is the answer. For those who have already experienced the wonderful feeling of Tai Chi, we hope to see you again soon. To those who have yet to experience that feeling, now is the time to take action and join a class near you. –

“Winter is here and the mornings are colder ~ and when it’s colder, for many people it’s really hard to stay motivated about health and fitness!! Many of us take on a “winter hibernation” mentality, we eat more and we do less! But we are not bears, we don’t need layers of fat, or endless inactivity. Winter can bring cold mornings, more illnesses, the blues and isolation but ……..” take the time to read this important story Why ‘move it’? – there may be some very useful advice that is appropriate for YOU! – winter warming its more beneficial to exercise than to hibernate CLICK HERE
